Nagarkot – Everest View Hiking Tour

Nagarkot

We depart from Kathmandu early in the morning towards Nagarkot at about 4:30 AM. We will take you to Nagarkot via a private car before sunrise so that you can witness the sun rise over the beautiful Himalayas from a viewpoint in Nagarkot. After that mesmerizing experience, you can enjoy a warm breakfast while savoring the panoramic Himalayan backdrop.

Changunarayan Temple

After breakfast, we will begin our hike to Changunarayan, a UNESCO World Heritage site located near Bhaktapur. The hike is pleasant, with scenic trails, charming villages, terraced fields and lush forests. Enjoy the natural beauty, listen to the sounds of nature, and experience the tranquility of the countryside near Kathmandu. After reaching Changunarayan, you can visit the ancient Changunarayan Temple, a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Explore the temple complex and admire the intricate wood carvings, stone sculptures, and historical artifacts there.

Bhaktapur

After enjoying Changunarayan, we will take a short break for lunch at a local restaurant in the vicinity. After lunch, we will proceed towards Bhaktapur, a city famous for its well-preserved historical architecture and cultural heritage. We will go to Bhaktapur via car so that we can properly explore the Durbar Square in the evening.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square

We will reach Bhaktapur after less than an hour. In Bhaktapur, we will take you to the Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can marvel at the stunning palaces, temples, and intricate artwork left by the Newars during the Malla dynasty. These well-preserved sites still hold a historical, cultural and religious significance to the locals here.

In the Durbar Square, you can visit the Nyatapola Temple, a tall pagoda styled temple often considered an architectural masterpiece. You can also visit other prominent sites like the Golden Gate and the 55 Window Palace. During your time there, make sure to stroll through Bhaktapur’s Pottery Square, known for its traditional pottery making. We will explore the vibrant local market, where you can find handicrafts and souvenirs. If you wish to try some Newari delicacies here, you can do so too.

After the sightseeing in Bhaktapur, the trip will come to an end. We will transfer you back to your hotel in Kathmandu, and if you wish to do other trips and tours, we can discuss it further.
