Nagarjune-Shivapuri Nature Tour

We will start our journey to Nagarjune in the morning for a cool hike. We will depart from your accommodation in Kathmandu and make your way to the entrance of Nagarjune Hill. The journey typically takes around 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on your starting point. After reaching the entrance of Nagarjune Hill and completing necessary permit processes at the checkpoint, we will start our hike.

The hike is pleasant, as you will mostly follow well-marked trails that leads into the lush forests of Nagarjune. The trail gradually ascends, offering a moderate level of difficulty suitable for hikers of various fitness levels. Along the way, you will be able to witness wonderful views of the Kathmandu valley. You will also come across several Buddhist stupas and monasteries. Feel free to participate in any ongoing rituals or meditation practices if interested.

We will then take a short break at a suitable resting spot along the trail. After refueling our bodies with some snacks, we will resume our hike towards the summit of Nagarjune Hill. The trail may involve some steeper sections, but the rewarding views and sense of accomplishment make it worthwhile. At the summit, you can spend time exploring the hilltop. Enjoy panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley, surrounding hills, and, on clear days, distant mountain ranges.

At the hilltop, we will enjoy a packed lunch amidst the serene nature of Nagarjune and enjoy ‘Jamacho’. Nagarjune Hill is best known for its meditation retreat centers. If interested, you can spend some time engaging in a meditation session or simply find a quiet spot to relax and connect with the serene environment. After thoroughly exploring the hilltop, we will begin our descent back to the entrance.  After arriving back at the entrance, we will make our way back to Kathmandu. The Nagarjune Day Hiking is officially over!
