More Info

Trek Difficulties:

Trekking the Tilicho and Thorong La Pass in Nepal’s Annapurna region is a demanding and thrilling experience. For those who love hiking, this high-altitude trek is a must-do because it combines the breathtaking beauty of Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world, with the challenging Thong La Pass.

This trek’s remote and rugged terrain, steep ascents and descents, and high altitudes all contribute to its high difficulty level. Trekkers may find it difficult to breathe in the thin air at elevations above 5,000 meters, so they must properly acclimate to prevent altitude sickness. The unpredictable and severe weather can make the trek even more challenging.

All things considered, this hike is appropriate for seasoned hikers who are mentally and physically prepared for the demanding nature of the expedition. However, for those who are up to the challenge, this trek is a rewarding and unforgettable adventure because of the breathtaking landscapes, distinctive cultural experiences, and sense of accomplishment.

Trekking Permits

Trekkers Information Management System (TIMS) is compulsory for trekking in Annapurna which is issued by Nepal government through registered Trekking agencies like ours. Beside TIMS, Annapurna conservation Entry permit is also required to trek in Annapurna because the trekking routes are inside Annapurna conservation Area.

Electricity and Internet:

Electricity and Internet availability during the trek varies depending on the location. Electricity and Internet is readily available in the lodges and teahouses in lower elevations. As you climb on to higher elevations however, electricity availability becomes scarce. The main source of electricity is solar panels here, so be prepared with portable chargers and power banks. Internet connectivity is also scarce in higher altitudes.

Before beginning your trek, think about getting a local SIM card in Kathmandu or Pokhara so you can stay connected. In certain places, these cards can offer limited mobile data connectivity; however, in many remote areas, the signal may be weak or nonexistent.

It’s important to remember that the Annapurna Circuit offers the chance to detach from technology and fully immerse oneself in the natural world, which is why it’s a good idea to enjoy the experience and not rely too heavily on either during your trek.
